A student advances to the 2nd year if he achieves at least 17 KT and has fully paid tuition. A student can part-time advances to a higher year, even if he has justifiable reasons for this (longer absence from work, longer illness…). Extraordinary promotion is decided by the Master’s Study Affairs Commission on the basis of an application, which is payable according to the valid price list.
During his studies, a student can repeat a year once and change his major once. A student who changes a major must complete the coursework requirements of the newly chosen major, regardless of the fact that he has already completed some of the requirements from the first major. A student can choose to study two majors at the same time and fulfill the specific obligations of each major. In his master’s thesis, he can combine the topics of both courses. As a rule, the student completes his studies in the time provided for in the study program. For justifiable reasons, the study may be extended by one year. However, the student can advance to a higher year and finish his studies earlier than is foreseen in the study program.
Methods and forms of studying
In part-time studies, organized pedagogical work is carried out according to the system of sequential implementation of teaching subjects. Each course begins with lectures or other intended forms of work and continues until all the intended forms of work are exhausted and the entire knowledge test can be carried out.
For candidates who, for objective reasons, cannot attend lectures or of other organized forms of study, a study that is normal for distance learning can be introduced, or the classic way of studying can be combined with elements of distance learning.
Students can decide to complete part of their studies abroad. At the candidate’s request, the Master’s Study Affairs Committee adopts a decision on this, which determines the length of the study and the obligations that the candidate will be recognized for.
Conditions for completing studies
The condition for completing the studies is that all the obligations stipulated in the program have been completed and that the master’s thesis has been written and successfully defended, with which the candidate accumulates at least 120 ECTS.
Professional or scientific title
After completing all the obligations prescribed by the Commercial course at FKPV, the candidate obtains the professional title of Master of Security Management.
